1880 Moore County, Tennessee Census. Judy Henley Phillips. Paperback, (1986), 110pp.

Preface:

Moore County Tennessee, named for General William Moore of Tullahoma, was established January 6, 1872.

The 1880 Moore County Tennessee census, the first census for the county, is transcribed from National Archives Microcopy T9, 1273.

This transcription includes: Street name (if listed), dwelling and family numbers, names, age, race, sex, relation to head of household, marital status, occupation, the month of birth for children born within the census year, marriages that have occurred within the census year, disabilities, the place of birth of the person named, their father's birth place and the place of birth of their mother. In some instances, no birth place was given. I left those as found. A number preceding the places of birth, signifies the number of months out of work during the census year for that person. Whether a person was able to read or write has not been copied.
